Hum Sweet Hum

Developed around the theme of "Home", this Global Game Jam 2019 entry is about a hummingbird building their nest while keeping up their energy, and avoiding danger.

Role: Lead designer and developer

Target Audience: The team as well as other game jam attendess and participants

Key Insights: Practising my own scripting skills.

This game was made by a team of all designers, pushing ther skill set beyond teir comfort zone. It was my task to script all the gameplay elements. After the initial 4hhour time limit of the game jam, the game was further developed by adding enemies and optimisng the controls for a controller so it could easily be played at a stall at the IGDA Glasgow play party.

My responsibilities included:

  • Scripting the main mechanics​ of the player character

  • Audio implementation

  • Enemy behaviour design and implementation.
